Our Charity Work

Our charity work in the UK

Lundbeck is committed to ‘giving’ back to our local communities, through charitable giving, both financially and by the giving of our time, as individuals and as a company.

Our charity committee

Within Lundbeck UK we have a Charity Committee and their role is to oversee all aspects of our charitable giving events, develop our volunteer programme and support our Charity Partners. Membership of the committee is a voluntary role and should not interfere or cause any conflict to the core role of the employee.

The committee comprises a cross-section of employees from across the UK business and is represented by each of the business areas and field teams.

The Charity Committee will develop a calendar of fundraising activities for the year by;

  • Creating and supporting fundraising events
  • Providing opportunities for employees to be involved in events
  • Raising awareness of our charity partners events and supporting them in their work
  • Obtaining matched funding, where possible and within budget, from Lundbeck UK

The Charity Committee is also responsible for developing and supporting the volunteer programme with our Charity Partner and they advise and support employees who wish to undertake volunteer work for a local charity within their community.

All funds raised through the committee are donated to charity and Lundbeck UK employees do not benefit financially in any way from the activities of its charitable giving.

Charity partnerships

Lundbeck UK is committed to ‘giving’ back to our local communities, through charitable giving, both financially and by the giving of our time, as individuals and as a company.

As part of this we choose to support one Charity Partner each year to focus our activities.

Lundbeck UK will only support charitable giving if it falls outside of the scope of Lundbeck’s business areas and there is no conflict of interest. Our charity partner will not be a Health Care Organisation (HCO), Patient Organisation (PO), Religious Organisation (RO) or Political Organisation.

Our 2025 charity partner: New Hope

For 2025, Lundbeck UK employees have chosen New Hope as our charity partner. Based in Watford, Hertfordshire, New Hope is dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless and vulnerably-housed individuals. They provide a range of accommodation and support to people who are rough sleeping and those recovering from homelessness. Nearly 500 people receive support from New Hope each year, with 52 individuals receiving accommodation every night. New Hope’s aim is to help people escape homelessness for good.

Support at New Hope begins with instant-access crisis assistance from an outreach team and a drop-in service offering hot meals, showers, advice and connections to accommodation services. Once a person is ready, New Hope provides accommodation and support, addressing underlying issues that lead to homelessness such as addiction and mental health challenges, paving the way for the final stage of support - achieving independent living. At this stage, New Hope has affordable rental homes and a tenancy sustainment team who are able to support individuals and families who may be struggling with managing their home, rent, bills and those in food or fuel poverty to reduce the risk of returning to homelessness.

Our previous charity partners

2024: Shelter

In 2024, we proudly supported Shelter,  a charity that defends the right to a safe home and fights against the housing emergency impacting so many lives.

2022-2023: Air Ambulances UK

From 2022 to 2023, we partnered with Air Ambulances UK, a national charity that supports the lifesaving work of air ambulance services across the UK. These incredible crews bring advanced critical care to patients experiencing life-threatening emergencies, right where they are.

2020-2022: Joining Forces Project

From 2020 until the end of 2022, we supported the Joining Forces Project by Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland, in collaboration with SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity. This initiative helped veterans facing challenges like loneliness, isolation, bereavement, and mental health issues. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we extended our support to address the increased isolation among elderly veterans, providing financial aid and volunteer support for a telephone befriending service.
