The environmental section consolidates Lundbeck’s policies and positions on climate action, resource management, biodiversity, and safe operations.
We recognize that climate change is a critical global challenge, and we have a long-standing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint. This section presents together our position on climate change, our transition plan toward zero emissions, and our latest CDP corporate disclosure. Product safety and quality are fundamental priorities for Lundbeck. The Quality Policy ensures that medicines are manufactured and distributed in compliance with global regulations and Good Practice (GxP) standards. It emphasizes building quality into every stage of development, fostering a strong quality culture, and making employees accountable.
Patient’s safety is safeguarded through our global Pharmacovigilance System, overseen by the Global Patient Safety department. This system ensures continuous monitoring of benefit-risk profiles of Lundbeck products on the market and in development, evaluation of safety data from all sources incl. reporting of adverse events from patients and healthcare professionals, and compliance with international pharmacovigilance requirements. Together, these activities protect patients, ensure regulatory compliance, and reinforce our commitment to safe and effective treatments.

Lundbeck’s Code of Ethics is the backbone of our ethics and compliance culture. It expresses the ethical principles and standards expected of all employees and external partners working on our behalf, ensuring alignment with internal and external requirements.
Responsible business conduct at Lundbeck is about ensuring that we meet our ethical and legal obligations in all parts of our value chain. This includes having robust global due diligence processes to identify and address risks and clear requirements for external partners working on our behalf.
At Lundbeck, ensuring animal welfare is our priority. Only when no alternative exists and when the benefits outweigh the possible risks of discomfort for the animals, do we conduct studies on animals. Lundbeck is obliged by the authorities to conduct studies on animals to advance safe and efficacious medicines to treat brain diseases. We provide appropriate care for our animals and continuously work to improve our animal research policy, procedures, and animal facilities. Our expectations related to animal welfare practices in our own facilities, in whatever country, and by external partners worldwide, when using living animals to conduct studies on our behalf, are stated in the Marseille Declaration.
Lundbeck acts with respect and integrity in everything we do, including observing applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and industry standards. Lundbeck’s Tax Policy sets forward the principles by which we manage our tax affairs in a compliant and accountable manner and includes our country-by-country reporting.
Lundbeck is committed to safeguarding personal data in compliance with applicable laws and to using data responsibly in research, business, and operations. Our Data Ethics Policy sets the principles for ethical use of all data, while our privacy governance framework reinforces accountability and high standards for the protection and processing of personal data.

Facts on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Lundbeck manages our health and safety through our integrated HSE system that is certified according to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 are international standards setting the requirements for Environment and Health & Safety Management Systems respectively.
Our certified system covers research, development, and manufacturing sites in Denmark, Italy and France, as well as our headquarter functions.

The system consists of written procedures and annual performance targets, communicated and integrated into daily operations via training. Compliance and improvements are evaluated by internal and external auditors and the business’ senior management reviews the overall system performance annually.
