Sustainability

Sustainability at Lundbeck

At Lundbeck we are committed to leaving a positive impact on people and planet.

Our strategy reflects that ambition and encompasses four pillars:

  • Access to health
  • Business ethics
  • Climate change
  • Circularity

Each area is supported by annual targets designed to integrate sustainable practices throughout our operations and help us achieve our 2030 goals. We remain committed to UN Global Compact Principles, and actively contribute to seven of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability in the annual report

Our sustainability performance is, as of 2024, fully integrated in our annual report. In our annual report we describe our sustainability performance and targets in alignment with our business performance.

As a company, we have been reporting on our sustainability efforts, challenges and contributions to our business, stakeholders and the societies we operate within for over a decade.

UN global compact

Lundbeck became a signatory to the UN Global Compact in 2009. We continue to promote initiatives that demonstrate our commitment to the 10 principles on human and labour rights, environment protection and anti-corruption.

Sustainable development goals

In 2020, we based our sustainability strategy on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We found we have a significant impact on seven of the 17 Goals:

  • Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
  • Goal 5: Gender Equality
  • Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
  • Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
  • Goal 13: Climate Action
  • Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions

Key examples are Goal 3 that is closely linked to our corporate purpose of advancing brain health and transforming lives, as well as Goal 13 that drives our efforts to prepare for a zero emissions future.

We will use our influence and act to promote Goals 5, 8, 10, 12 and 16.

The following sustainability pages represent the key areas or workstreams that are part of our overall sustainability strategy.
