So, you’ve decided that you’re interested in the Brain Battle and are wondering what the criteria are for joining the competition. Are you wondering what it takes for you to be the candidate we’re looking for?

 

To know if this is the right competition for you, ask yourself: Are you

  1. Interested in neuroscience, drug development and science communication?
  2. A MSc student or recent graduate in the broad field of Neuroscience?
  3. Able to start the PhD no later than December 2026?
  4. Able to attend an interview during February or March 2026, presentation training on April 8th and April 15th 2026 (10 a.m.- 1 p.m. both days) and the Brain Battle finale on April 23rd 2026 in person at the Lundbeck headquarters in Valby, DK?

 

If your answer to these four questions is a resounding “YES!”, then you’re the candidate we are looking for!

 

Why participate?

 

If you are interested in neuroscience, drug development and science communication this is a great opportunity. You not only have the chance to win a fully funded scholarship for an industrial PhD at Lundbeck, you will also sharpen your scientific communication skills through two 3-hour presentation training sessions with a professional coach. In the first session, you will get the tools to prepare your presentation and learn the basic theories behind a good presentation. Topics include body language, how to start on a strong note and how to connect and relate to your audience. In the second session, you will have the opportunity to practice on stage and get direct feedback on your Brain Battle presentation from the coach.

To participate in Brain Battle 2026, please register below and upload your letter of motivation, CV, grade transcript and letters of recommendation (optional) no later than January 31st, 2026. Please note that the application needs to be in English for it to be considered.
